8 Covers That Prove “Mi Burrito Sabanero” Slaps No Matter What

It wouldn’t be Noche Buena without the sound of “Mi Burrito Sabanero” – or “El Burrito de Belén,” depending on who you ask – floating in the air. The song was written by the famous Venezuelan songwriter Hugo Blanco, and became a huge hit in 1976 after it was recorded by Venezuelan group La Rondallita. Since then, it’s been covered countless times and in every genre imaginable – from renditions by Juanes to Miami bass guru DJ Laz. Even Major Lazer seems to have hopped on the “Mi Burrito Sabanero” wave:
