These 7 Songs by Aries Artists Will Help You Ring In the Season

Who are you celebrating this Aries season? Often described as bold, passionate, and impulsive, we’re continuing our monthly listicle with Aries, which approximately runs from Mar. 21 to Apr. 19. Ready to hear all about the first Fire sign of the year?
Believe it or not, there are many Aries hitmakers in the Latine music industry. One of the most important popstars who continues to make headlines posthumously is Selena Quintanilla, who we featured last year alongside other artists like Luis Miguel, Villano Antillano, and Paquita La Del Barrio. This year, we’re celebrating just as great stars, like Colombian pop star Manuel Turizo, Argentinean superstar Tini, and Mexican songstress Silvana Estrada. We are also toasting to Mexican classic singer-songwriter Joan Sebastian, Mexican singer Julión Álvarez, Argentinean rapper Trueno, and Puerto Rican singer Olga Tañón, who all share the same ram symbol.
Though you may know each of the aforementioned artists for different genres, it’s no surprise that they have similar characteristics thanks to their ambitious Fire sign. Take Estrada’s songwriting as an example: her passionate lyricism has taken her to receive multiple Latin Grammy nominations and a win for Best New Artist. Her vulnerability and bold storytelling have been recognized in recent years. Another songwriter with the same gift for composing is the late Joan Sebastian, whose bold and passionate lyrics made him a Latin American icon. Both musical projects demonstrate an Aries’ willingness to show off their ardent gifts to the world.
From Turizo’s latest collaboration to Tañón’s classic that still hits today, here are seven songs that commemorate these music masterminds on their birthday month.
And for any Aries reading this: Happy birthday!
Manuel Turizo – “Apambichao”
Born on Apr. 12, Turizo is one of Colombia’s biggest pop stars. He’s known for his hit collaborations with A-list names like Maluma, Xavi, Fuerza Regida, and Marshmello. Since 2016, he’s been dropping music in different genres, such as merengue, EDM, bachata, pop, and more. Makes sense since in pure bold Aries fashion, he doesn’t shy from trying something new in the ever-evolving Latine industry. But get this: Turizo didn’t know he was in Aries until a few years ago. When talking in a new interview about being a ram, he said: “It’s like I do find similarities that make me feel like I can relate to certain little things.” Astrology is real, Turizo. You’ll see.
Tini – “36 Vidas”
Tini is one of Argentina’s best-known powerhouses. Born on Mar. 21, the Aries singer relates to her sign and recognizes she’s “very impulsive” and, at the same time, “muy mental.” For those who don’t know, this particular Fire sign can be impulsive, fueling the sign’s bad rep about being known to “leap before they think” in certain situations. But, hey, as far as music goes, it’s a good thing to experiment with different genres and styles. And Tini’s repertoire spans many genres, including her newest song “36 Vidas,” which oozes cumbia elements that evoke Selena’s Tex-Mex vibe (we love a catchy synthesizer!).
Silvana Estrada – “Flores”
Born on Apr. 15, Estrada is one of Mexico’s popular singer-songwriters. An Aries trait that she embodies is her willingness to be bold and passionate in her lyrics, which range from love to loss. Her distinctive vocals, paired with her acoustic strings or entrancing piano chords, can captivate a listener from the start. To date, she’s been nominated for both the Latin Grammys and the gringo Grammys, proving that she has listeners far beyond her hometown of Xalapa, Veracruz. “Flores” is part of her latest album, Vendrán Suaves Lluvias, released last October. With almost 10 years of releasing music, we can’t wait to see what’s next in this ram’s career.
Joan Sebastian – “Secreto De Amor”
If you grew up listening to Mexican music on the radio, you have more than likely heard a Joan Sebastian song, whether or not it was with his vocals. That’s because major mainstream singers, including Jenni Rivera (“De Contrabando”) and Vicente Fernández (“Estos Celos”), were lucky enough to have recorded compositions by “El Rey del Jaripeo.” Known for his hits like “Secreto De Amor,” “Tatuajes,” and “Más Allá Del Sol,” Joan Sebastian was also an Aries (born April 8, 1951), who tragically passed away on July 13, 2015, at age 64. Though he is no longer alive, there is no doubt that he still inspires living talent today. May he continue to rest in peace.
Julión Álvarez – “Cuando Te Amé”
Blowing his birthday candles on Apr. 11, Álvarez is another Aries to celebrate this season. Known for his striking and romantic songs like “Cuando Te Amé,” “Regalo De Dios,” and “Lo Tienes Todo,” the Mexican crooner had a huge comeback last year—including a historic SoFi Stadium trek. His loyal U.S. fanbase waited eight years to hear his songs live again, making his highly anticipated 4218 Tour a successful one. However, dedicated fans are still waiting for more U.S. tour dates and new music this year. Will he surprise us with both in the coming months? We’ll keep an eye out!
Trueno – “FRESH”
Born on Mar. 25, Trueno is an Aries who is known for the Zodiac sign’s competitive trait. He’s gotten so far in his freestyle and rapping career thanks to having that fire in him—take his epic wins at the ACDP Zoo Juniors (2016) and Red Bull Batalla de los Gallos Argentina (2019) as prime examples. After creating a name for himself by spitting fiery verses, he became a recording artist, later becoming one of Argentina’s most recognized rappers. Now, this Aries has collaborations with established names like Feid, Young Miko, and even Julieta Venegas. How’s that for a barely 24-year-old?
Olga Tañón – “Basta Ya”
Tañón, born on Apr. 13, 1967, is an Aries celebrating another year around the sun. The tropical Boricua star, known for her hits like “Basta Ya,” “Es Mentiroso,” and “La Gran Fiesta,” is a prominent figure in the Latine music industry. This tracks since she has all the traits a Fire sign is known for: passionate, highly energetic, and adventurous. In fact, Fire signs—Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius—are recognized as charismatic leaders, which Tañón is in her genre. Moreover, did you know she competed in the television talent show Buscando Estrellas at 16-years-old? That’s a true fiery and bold Aries, if you ask me.
