Latinos have long been among the most influential players in Major League Baseball (MLB). Each season, hundreds of players with roots in Latin America and Latino communities across the U.S. compete at the highest professional level. This year, several have earned recognition as the best in big leagues.
Below are the seven Latino MLB players who are making their All-Star game debut on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.
Jhoan Durán
Philadelphia Phillies right-hander and Dominican Republic native Jhoan Durán is considered one of MLB’s most dominant closers. He entered the break with a 1.42 ERA, 23 saves, 50 strikeouts in 31.2 innings across 33 appearances. Durán has stunned hitters with his overpowering fastball and devastating splitter. He earned All-MLB First Team honors in 2025 and has since continued his rise to become one of baseball’s best relievers.
Raisel Iglesias
After 12 seasons in the MLB, veteran Atlanta Braves pitcher Raisel Iglesias, who defected from Cuba in 2014, was named to his first All-Star game. He entered the break with a 2.30 ERA, 18 saves, 35 strikeouts and a 1.12 WHIP in 31.1 innings across 30 appearances. Although he missed part of the season with a shoulder injury, Iglesias came back to reclaim his spot in the bullpen and proved to be one of the MLB’s most reliable relievers. This is the first time a Braves reliever has been chosen for the All-Star game in 12 years.
Otto López
Miami Marlins infielder and Dominican Republic native Otto López earned his first All-Star selection after becoming one of MLB’s most productive hitters this season. He entered the break batting .345 with 127 hits, nine home runs, 45 RBIs, 17 stolen bases and a .900 OPS in 92 games. His consistent hitting and speed made him a breakout performer, and his league-leading batting average and elite athleticism has made him unreplaceable in Miami.
Jesús Luzardo
Phillies left-hander Jesús Luzardo earned his first All-Star selection after emerging as one of the MLB’s most exciting starting pitchers. Luzardo, who was born in Peru to Venezuelan parents, entered the break with an 8-4 record, a 3.51 ERA and 136 strikeouts across 110.1 innings in 19 starts. Luzardo is known for his high-velocity fastball and devastating breaking ball. He has overwhelmed hitters with his strikeout ability and dominance on the mound.
Andy Pages
Brooklyn Dodgers power hitter Andy Pages earned his first All-Star selection after becoming one of the MLB’s most impactful offensive weapons. The Cuban outfielder, who is nicknamed “Big Dog,” entered the break with a .263 batting average, 16 home runs, 64 RBIs, 21 doubles and a .790 OPS in 93 games. Pages is known for his ability to drive in runs. In only his third season, he has grown into an elite force in the Dodgers’ lineup.
Eduardo Rodríguez
After 12 seasons in the league, veteran Arizona Diamondbacks left-hander and Venezuela native Eduardo Rodríguez earned his first All-Star selection. The left-hander entered the break with a 7-3 record, a 2.25 ERA and 74 strikeouts across 108 innings in 18 starts. Rodríguez, whose nickname is “E-Rod,” has had a resurgence this season at the top of Arizona’s rotation.
Miguel Vargas
Chicago White Sox third baseman Miguel Vargas entered the break with 20 home runs, 56 RBIs, 17 doubles and a .831 OPS in 91 games. This season, the Cuban native has impacted the game with his patient approach at the plate and has become an incredible offensive force for Chicago.
