The 2024 National League and American League Championship series are here, with the Yankees facing the Guardians in the American League and the Dodgers taking on the Mets in the National League. Which teams will make it to the World Series? One thing is for sure, whoever does will have a strong presence from our communities. MLB is, after all, filled with exceptional Latino players.
From Yankees superstar Juan Soto to Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor, here are some of the Latino MLB players to watch out for during the 2024 League Championship Series.

Yankees players
Juan Soto
Dominican outfielder Juan Soto was already considered one of the game’s top players before even getting to the Yankees. Now, with free agency up ahead and a World Series championship still possible, Soto is riding high.
Gleyber Torres
Venezuelan second baseman Gleyber Torres is having a postseason to remember on a team that needs more than Soto to make it not just to the World Series, but to win it. He’s also a free agent after this season, so what better time than this one?
Alex Verdugo
Mexican outfielder Alex Verdugo is another Yankee having a great postseason, and not just on offense either. He didn’t have a great regular season, but the team and the fans are likely to forget that if he keeps doing what he’s been doing the last few weeks.
Guardians players
Emmanuel Clase
Dominican pitcher Emmanuel Clase is the man tasked with one of the hardest jobs in baseball, closing out games. The problem, of course, is that he needs his team to be in front to get there.
Andrés Giménez
Venezuelan second baseman Andrés Giménez might not be as big a superstar as some of the other names on this list, but he’s a solid player who can make a big impact.
José Ramírez
Dominican third baseman José Ramírez is one of Cleveland’s most solid players and one of the ones they are counting on to take on the mighty Yankees. Now the question is, can he come up big?
Mets vs. Dodgers
Mets players
Edwin Díaz
Puerto Rican pitcher Edwin Díaz is the Mets closer, which is a hard job to do against the Dodgers. But if anyone’s proven he’s up to the challenge it’s Díaz, one of the game’s most reliable relievers.
Francisco Lindor
Puerto Rican shortstop Francisco Lindor is one of the Mets’ strongest players, and as the leadoff hitter in the Mets lineup, the one responsible for kickstarting their offense.
Mark Vientos
Dominican and Nicaraguan third baseman Mark Vientos is one of those players who can only get better, and a great Championship series could go a long way toward making him a star.
Dodgers players
Teoscar Hernández
Dominican outfielder Teoscar Hernández might not seem like a big deal in such a stacked roster for the Dodgers, but underestimate him at your peril. He will make sure you remember him.
Andy Pages
Cuban outfielder Andy Pages is only a rookie, so he’s got a long career ahead of him. But solid regular season numbers brought him to the postseason roster, and he seems eager for more.
Enrique "Kiké" Hernández
Puerto Rican utility player Enrique “Kiké” Hernández is a jack of all trades for the Dodgers. And sometimes that’s exactly what you need to win.
