The 6 Best Portland Soccer Bars to Watch the Timbers in MLS Cup Final

This weekend, Columbus Crew SC will face off against the Portland Timbers for MLS Cup victory. Will Pipita win the day, or will Diego Valeri’s team triumph en route to their first-ever Cup title? I feel my heart rate rising already.

If you can’t make it to Columbus for match day, not to worry – we’ve got a list of Portland soccer bars where you can root for the Timbers with the most diehard of fans. So save yourself the hassle of making a bunch of phone calls (we already did) and keep this list in mind. Of course, if you know other dope spots, sound off in the comments.

1

The Thirsty Lion

71 SW 2nd Ave, Portland
(503)-222-2155

With plenty of Portland supporters and new big screen TVs, The Thirsty Lion might just be the place to be on Sunday. Thirty-two craft, import, and domestic beers will be on draft to boot.

2

442 Soccer Bar

1739 SE Hawthorne Blvd, Portland
(503)-238-3693

This bar is named after a fútbol formation. I mean come on. It looks more like a soccer museum than a bar with all of the memorabilia it’s rocking, too. For future reference, take note of the fact that 442 offers every soccer channel you could possibly imagine, plus great Bosnian food, thanks to its owner’s roots.

3

The Blue Room Bar at Cartlandia

8145 SE 82nd Ave
(503)-358-7873

Owned by former Timbers’ player Roger Goldingay, this hotspot includes 18 taps with local craft beer and cider. Show up in Timbers’ gear and you’ll get $1 off beer!

4

Bazi Bierbrasserie

1522 SE 32nd Ave (at SE Hawthorne Blvd), Portland
(503)-234-8888

This official Timbers’ pub has 17 Belgian craft beers, great food, and an early Sunday Happy Hour just for matchday! Doors open at 12:30 p.m. Be sure to stick around until the end – apparently, there will be complimentary Bazi Hofbrouw Tripel to toast a Timbers’ victory.

5

Clive’s Public House at Rose City Futsal

5010 NE Oregon St, Portland
(503)-734-2382

Clive’s is named after Timbers’ legend Clive Charles, who joined the team back in 1978 and was a long-time coach at the University of Portland. With six beers on tap and a solid selection of local microbrews, this viewing party within an indoor facility is sure to be a unique experience. Their event also includes free youth open play during game time, starting at 1:00 p.m.

6

Prost! Portland

4237 N Mississippi Ave, Portland
(503)-954-2674

Prost! Portland serves beer the way it’s meant to be served: in metric sizes (third, half, and full-liters of imported German beers). What more do we need to say? A Timbers’ fan favorite. The watch party starts at 1:00 p.m., with an extra TV and sound.
