2012 Grammy Nominees: Latin Categories

Okay, so we recently did this thing and partnered with a few bigger soda and beer brands for the Latin Grammys. Of course, it’s always awesome to throw parties here and there for the sake of celebrating music we’re really into, especially for our artists we’ve blogged about before they were mainstream famous. But usually with Grammys, the nominees selected don’t get tons of air play. It’s also a bit confusing, and I’d imagine for the rest of y’all too, why the hell have a Latin Grammys and a Grammys “Latin Categories”?

I mean, sure you have your “Best Latin Pop, Rock, or Urban albums” in ONE category. This is the most vaguest shit category ever, to have THREE genres mashed into one. Then you get your Regional Mexican or Tejano under the same umbrella, and then just throw in your Norteño and Tropical cause it’s “Latin.” Yeah, we root for some of these guys to get the nod, cause we’ve seen some of them just blow up; La Vida Bohéme is my pick. And of course, we’re huge fans of Calle 13 and Los Amigos. Then, there’s Maná nominated, ugh, again, seriously? We like some of the other guys too in the rest of the categories, but we’ll leave that for the rest to blab about. So without further ado, here are the 54th Annual Grammy nominees, Latin Categories!
