As we continually navigate the new reality of social distancing and quarantine life, many artists, public figures and all around personalities have taken to their IG lives to deliver nightly chats. One of those keeping us regularly entertained on the ‘gram is Fat Joe, who has had chats with some of our favorites, including up-and-coming corrido tumbado artist Natanael Cano.

But on Wednesday night, the Bronx rapper had one of the most illustrious BX residents, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on his live. They talked about sneakers, Hector Lavoe, the BX and one of the most contentious topics of all time: an all-time favorite rappers list.

Though Cortez seemed visibly shaken at the gargantuan task of having to name her top five on the spot, she quickly showed her New Yorker colors (mostly), by naming Nas, Big Pun, Biggie Smalls, Tupac and Boogie Down’s own KRS-One. But one commonly accepted G.O.A.T. rapper missing from the list was Brooklyn’s own Jay-Z, and people on Twitter were quick to point it out.

A top rappers list can quite possibly be one of the most debated topics of our time, but no matter how you feel about Hova’s exclusion, you have to admit AOC’s selections have some of the best bars of all time. In fact, AOC, if you’re reading this, we would LOVE to have you on our live to chat about some of the best urbano artists of all time 👀.
