Sister bands Aterciopelados and Los Amigos Invisibles have been sharing stages around the world since their beginnings in the 90s, but in 2020 they have finally joined forces and are going on the road together for the first time across the U.S. Kicking off on March 26 in Sacramento, both Latin Grammy Award-winning acts are set to perform in 16 different cities, where they’ll be performing some of their greatest hits from their long careers, as well as new music.

Aterciopelados recently shared their own version of Soda Stereo’s “En La Ciudad De La Furia,” the same song once performed by singer Andrea Echeverri with the Argentine band in their 1996 MTV Unplugged. Echeverri is also set to join the surviving members of Soda Stereo on their Gracias Totales tour in the American continent. This year also marks the 25th anniversary of Aterciopelado’s seminal album El Dorado.

On the other hand, Venezuelan band Los Amigos Invisibles will bring their irreverent brand of funk to their U.S. fans, including their latest single “Tócamela,” which earned them the Latin Grammy 2019 in the Best Alternative Song category. The glitzy jam is packed with double entendres that reflect the same sense of humor that made them stand out right from their 1995 debut A Typical and Autoctonal Venezuelan Dance Band.
