The first round of performers was revealed today (Jan. 25) for the 2023 Grammy Awards — and it’s official: Bad Bunny will be performing at the event.

The Recording Academy revealed the performers who will be hitting the stage at the 65th annual Grammy Awards. Along with Bad Bunny are Mary J. Blige, Brandi Carlile, Luke Combs, Steve Lacy, Lizzo, Kim Petras, and Sam Smith, who were also confirmed as performers.

When the nominations were announced in November, Bad Bunny made history with his nomination for Album of the Year. With Un Verano Sin Ti up for the top award, that marked the first time the category included a Spanish-language album. Bad Bunny faces competition from albums like Beyoncé’s Renaissance, Adele’s 30, Harry Styles’ Harry’s House, and Kendrick Lamar’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers

This year, Bad Bunny’s blockbuster Un Verano Sin Ti LP is also nominated for Best Música Urbana Album. That category includes Daddy Yankee’s last album Legendaddy, Maluma’s The Love & Sex Tape, Rauw Alejandro’s Trap Cake, Vol. 2, and Farruko’s LA 167.

Bad Bunny is no stranger to the Grammy Awards. He is already a two-time Grammy winner. He won his first Grammy in 2021 for Best Latin Pop Or Urban Album for YHLQMDLG. The following year, the Record Academy split those genres into two separate categories. Bad Bunny then won the inaugural Best Música Urbana Album Grammy for El Último Tour Del Mundo.

Bad Bunny has also won nine Latin Grammy Awards in total. Last November, he added four Latin Grammys to his collection. He was also nominated for Album of the Year at that ceremony but lost to Rosalía’s Motomami LP. Rosalía is nominated for two Grammy Awards, including Best Latin Or Rock Alternative Album for Motomami

The Grammy Awards will be broadcast live on CBS on Feb. 5. The awards will air live from the Crypto.com Arena in L.A.
