One of the most innovative, out-of-the-box entertaining spectacles of 2020 was Bad Bunny performing on top of a bus through the busy streets of New York City. How the Puerto Rican star dodged traffic lights, handled his posture during a moving bus, and still managed to sing his hits is beyond us. But now, we’re getting a closer look at how it all came together via a new special by the Televisa/Univision ViX streaming platform, available to watch starting today (March 31).
“It was so hard for me to imagine doing a concert without the public,” Bad Bunny says in Spanish in the Uforia with Bad Bunny: The Event that Revolutionized the Music in 2020 trailer. The special details just how the live experience came to be, including how the team arranged everything while keeping the project under wraps to how they got the city’s permission to pull it off. One big question we have is how Benito was able to keep his cool and perform with so many distractions around him, including fans showing up to catch a glimpse.
Well, the special we will get most, if not all, our curiosities answered. According to Billboard, Univision radio’s president Jesús Lara said the show “takes fans behind the scenes of making this epic event that celebrated Hispanic culture, honored frontline workers, and was a remembrance of the devastation of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.”
He then continued: “From creating the concept, working closely with Bad Bunny’s management and creative team, building a moving stage, to coordinating with the City of New York, NYPD, and Harlem Hospital. Uforia proudly delivered a one-of-a-kind experience that served as a before and after of Livestream experiences, proudly elevated Hispanic culture, and profoundly impacted the music industry.”
Bad Bunny’s show was one of the most unique live streaming experiences during the pandemic, accumulating over 10 million viewers. And now we get a chance to relive the moment and see how it all went down in depth.
