SXSW 2012: Bands We Love

Yesterday, we brought you some real time snapshots via instangram of what was going on and a few li’l clips on U Stream. So I’ll shine some light on three new bands from SXSW 2012 to continue on the quest of searching some pretty dope Latin bands around.

L.A.

Folks, don’t get it confused with the City of Angels, cause L.A. (the band) is definitely one to check out. Donning some rockabilly fashion, this Mallorca-based group L.A. brings ya some alt rock noise that’ll make ya swing too. So, we’ll leave ya with this ditty of theirs and be on the lookout for some more.

Vetusta Morla

Vetusta Morla. Yesss. The Madrileño frontman Pucho had a whole lotta energy and the crowed loved it. Bangin’ on an oil barrel and twirling around on that mic stand while shouting the band maintained a solid sound made em all the “taco de ojo” you can eat and loud raucous noise to your ears.

Il Abanico

I ran into Colombia via Boston band Il Abanico, and was pretty stoked to know they’d be on the roster for the NaCo showcase. All the bands were sick to say the very least, and will soon be sharing some live video shoots. So get familiar with Il Abanico and stay tuned for lots more SXSW Latino content – in style. For now, get these upbeat electropop tunes of theirs for FREE.
