Latin funk is always great for parties and dancing, but sometimes you gotta take it to a more serious place. Such is the case with Bay Area’s Bayonics with their latest video, “Paz Y Guerra.” The 10-piece group does such seriousness on a track about (yep, you guessed it) peace and war and the global crisis that has led to massive protests in many countries such as Spain, Chile and the US. Footage from some of these protests appear in the video alongside scenes from a Dia de los Muertos celebration in the Bay Area.

The song isn’t exactly Rage Against The Machine with bongos and flutes but it does call listeners to action, to fight for life and what’s right: “Vengo sonando porque la vida se pone dura. Lucha por la vida, mami, porque la muerte está segura.”
