Benito Cerati and a crop of Argentine musicians have recorded a musical tribute to the late Gustavo Cerati, which will be named after the artist’s solo album Siempre Es Hoy. The concert was recorded in a private session, and is set to air on November 22nd on Argentina’s TV Pública with support from the Argentine Ministry of Culture and Radio Nacional Rock.
Benito Cerati was joined by Charly García, Fito Paez, Richard Mollo, Richard Coleman, Leo García, Fernando Nalé, Leandro Fresco, Lisandro Aristimuño, Gonzalo Córdoba, and the bands Catupecu Machu, Massacre, Eruca Sativa, and Rayos Láser in the session recorded two months to the day after Cerati’s passing. Cerati’s frequent collaborator Tweety Gonzalez will step in as musical director for the special.
