Billie Eilish recently praised Carla Morrison’s music, and now she’s championing another Latine artist. The American singer announced she’s taking The Marías on her highly-anticipated HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR. On selected dates, other special guests include American pop duo Nat and Alex Wolff and British singer-songwriter Towa Bird.
“Billie, thank you for having us <3,” The Marías wrote online.
The LA-based alternative and indie pop band – fronted by Puerto Rican-American singer María Zardoya – is opening a selected trek of Eilish’s shows in December. Their stops include performances at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC (Dec. 3); the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, WA (Dec. 5 to 6); and the Moda Center in Portland, OR (Dec. 8). Following shows will be at the SAP Center at San Jose in San Jose, CA (Dec. 10 to 11); the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, AZ (Dec. 13); and the Kia Forum in Inglewood, CA (Dec. 15).
The Marías have been booked and busy this year. They started their North American tour in July after releasing their sophomore album Submarine. Then, the North American tour expanded to a world tour, revealing dates in regions like Spain, France, and the United Kingdom during October and November. After being overseas, the band will return to the U.S. to join Eilish’s crew.
Eilish’s HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR is in support of her latest album with the same name. The album includes popular hits like “LUNCH,” “CHIHIRO,” and “BIRDS OF A FEATHER.” Coincidentally, both Eilish and The Marías’ recent album artwork features the artists embracing a water theme.
All dates for the HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR in the U.S. with The Marías as openers are sold out. For more information on how to join your city’s waitlist, visit the artist’s official website.
