Are you a songwriter or composer in the U.S. and Puerto Rico between the ages of 16-24? Then you could be eligible for a $5,000 scholarship from The BMI Foundation, the non-profit branch of Broadcast Music, Inc.
Broadcast Music Inc. is a music royalty collection agency that makes sure that songwriters, composers and music publishers get compensated when their works are performed. Among the many music awards their foundation offers is the peermusic Latin Scholarship – an annual scholarship competition for the best song or instrumental work in any Latin genre. The competition is open to songwriters and composers who are current students at colleges and universities located in the United States and Puerto Rico, between the ages of 16 and 24. All words and music must be original.
This year’s application deadline is February 15, 2013 (postmark).
