Cardi B is officially back. After a year of only releasing features, the half-Dominican rapper dropped her newest single, “Hot Shit,” featuring Lil Durk and Ye (Kanye West). Let’s just say that the track is fit for the summer’s heat and owns up to its title.

The Tay Keith-produced hip-hop track starts with the signature attitude that La Cardi serves. With her lyrics: “I don’t know what’s longer, man, my blocklist or my checklist / I don’t know what’s colder, man, my heart or my necklace / Pretty when I wake up, I’m a bad bitch at breakfast,” she sets the boss-like mood that the track embodies.

The featured rappers Lil Durk and Ye also bring equal fire to the track. Lil Durk comes through with lines like “You think I’m finna leave my bitch for you? She fuck Future, too,” which is already creating a buzz online.

In an interview with Apple Music, the “WAP” rapper revealed that “Hot Shit” was actually recorded in 2019. She reportedly said: “Kanye gave me this verse a couple of months ago when he was just all over the media because of all of the things that were going on. I like how his verse it’s personal, but it’s not that personal.”

Well, the song’s premiere was worth the wait. Even without the music video that Cardi says she had issues over, the track is already showing praise from her fans. Earlier this week, she went on an Instagram live explaining why the new release wouldn’t come with an official music video. She cited miscommunication surrounding the track’s promotion.

However, now that it’s officially out, fans are thrilled over it and hitting replay. While we don’t have an album release date yet, we can already tell that Cardi B will own 2022.
