With tensions escalating between the U.S. and Iran – after Donald Trump bypassed congressional approval and ordered the strike that killed Iranian general Qasem Soleimani – many have taken to social media to express their fears and disbelief at the prospect of war. And while some have resorted to posting memes about the situation, others – like Cardi B – have taken a somewhat tongue-in-cheek approach to conveying their very real fears.

On Friday, La Caldi took to her Twitter to show her dismay at the situation while playfully asserting she would be claiming her Nigerian citizenship. “Naaaaa these memes are f*ckin [laughing face emojis] but sh*t ain’t no joke ! Specially being from New York .Its sad this man is putting Americans live in danger.Dumbest move Trump did till date …I’m filing for my Nigerian citizenship,” Cardi tweeted.

But as we all know, the internet works quickly, and within a matter of hours, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Nigerian official in charge of diaspora welcomed Cardi to Nigeria with open arms. “@iamcardib . As one in charge of the Diaspora for Ngr, We can’t wait to receive you again. Our doors are open, sister. And you need to [take] a walk through the Door of Return in Badagry . It’s an indescribable experience,” Dabiri-Erewa tweeted.

Seems as though Cardi received the message, and is now in the process of picking her tribe.
