Cardi B headlined the Houston Rodeo last night, drawing a crowd of 75,580 that broke the paid attendance record previously held by Garth Brooks.

And like several other performers at the rodeo this week – including Kacey Musgraves and Prince Royce – Cardi paid her respects to Selena, who famously wowed fans at the concert series for three years in a row starting in 1993.

In an Instagram story filmed backstage, Cardi captured poster of la reina del Tejano wearing a bejeweled bustier and purple leather jacket. “This was the inspo for ‘Please Me,’” Cardi reveals, referring to her new video with Bruno Mars, which dropped Friday.

She also shared that seeing the photo of Selena gave her the confidence to go out and nail her performance at the rodeo. “I was so nervous to perform in front of 75,000+ people,” Cardi says. “But when I saw this picture [of Selena] I knew I was going to be alright.”

Then, she burst into a spontaneous sing-along to “Como la Flor.”
