Legend Carlos Santana is recovering at a Michigan hospital after he fainted on stage from heat exhaustion and dehydration during a concert Tuesday evening (July 5). Santana’s representatives told People magazine that he “was taken to the emergency department at McLaren Clarkston for observation and is doing well.”

Santana was performing on his Miraculous Supernatural 2022 tour at the Pine Knob Music Theater in Clarkston, Michigan, which is located 40 miles northwest of Detroit.

Roop Raj, a reporter for the Fox affiliate in Detroit, posted a photo taken by a colleague inside the venue where it looked like people were attending to Santana on stage.

“Carlos Santana just passed out on stage at [Pine Knob Music Theatre],” Raj tweeted. “Medical personnel on stage. Crowd asked to pray for him because of a ‘serious medical’ issue.”

Later, Philip Lewis, a Detroit native, and editor at the Huffington Post, tweeted a video of Santana waving to fans as he was taken off the stage on a stretcher.

“Carlos Santana waved to clapping fans as he’s helped off the stage,” Lewis tweeted.

Last December, Santana canceled a series of shows in Las Vegas after undergoing an unplanned heart procedure. In a video he posted on social media, he told fans that he was going to take some time off to “replenish,” “rest,” and take care of his health. “So, that when I play for you, I will play the way I’m used to and give you 150 percent,” he said.

Santana is scheduled to perform Wednesday (July 6) night at The Pavilion at Star Lake in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania. There’s no word yet if that concert will still take place, but just to be safe, we’re hoping he doesn’t rush back too quickly and does some more replenishing and resting in the coming days.
