Los Angeles soul/psych/surf-rock cumbia quartet Chicano Batman will take their show on the road throughout the southwest this October, visiting Austin, San Antonio, Phoenix, and more. Taking tour nomenclature to the next level, the band is asking its fans to use the #OuterCityLimits hashtag, releasing a statement that it’s “in direct response to the near exclusion of bands of color from well-known festivals such as Austin City Limits, which will take place a week before #OCL.”

The band hopes that the hashtag will urge festival programmers–in the case of Austin City Limits especially, where it’s noticeably minimal–in booking and promoting musicians of color, a step “in solidarity with the band and the movement toward accessibility.”

The #OuterCityLimits tour kicks off Wednesday, October 15th in Phoenix at the Film Bar. Catch the full tour dates below.
