Christina Aguilera has been known to show up for the LGBTQ+ community in meaningful ways over the years. The singer will once again show her support, as she will headline this year’s Pride Live in New York, NY, for the Stonewall Day 2023 Benefit Concert this Summer (June 23).
“It’s going to be another high-energy Pride show – which is my favorite,” Aguilera said in a statement to Rolling Stone. “This community has supported me so much throughout my career, and I look forward to representing such a historic cause as we all continue to fight for LGBTQ+ rights.”
Aguilera’s high profile means an influx of fans are expected to come out to see her perform, and the event organizers made a major change for this year’s festivities with that in mind. In order to accommodate a larger event space, the benefit concert will move to the Public Square & Gardens in Hudson Yards from the event’s original location outside of the historic Stonewall Inn in the West Village.
The “Fighter” singer headlined last year’s L.A. Pride with an epic performance that included surprise appearances by Mya, Kim Petras, and Paris Hilton. Earlier this year, Aguilera was honored with GLAAD’s Advocate for Change Award for her efforts in the fight against HIV and for championing LGBTQ+ rights.
Stonewall Day 2023 will be hosted by “Pose”’s Angelica Ross and include performances from Mila Jam, BETTY, Mariyea, and resident DJ Lina Bradford. Additional performers will be announced closer to the event.
You can now get your tickets for Stonewall Day 2023 to see Aguilera headline the event. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the upcoming Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center.
