As reported on Sunday, Daddy Yankee’s third of ten scheduled engagements at San Juan’s “Choliseo” was followed by an act of vandalism that left the building covered in over 130 bullets.

But according to El Nuevo Dia, this act of vandalism did little to deter ardent Yankee fans from lining up on Sunday afternoon as early as 5:30 p.m. for his performance that evening.

Before going into his Barrio Fino hit, “Rompe,” El Cangri addressed the incident. “I know you all woke up to various news reports this morning, but we won’t let anyone cloud our happy holidays we will be having here,” Yankee said. “To the people who did this vandalism to the coliseum and to my colleague [Raphy] Pina, I’m here to tell you, you are still our brothers and we forgive,” he added to a thunderous roar of approval from the audience.

Yankee’s residency at El Choli continues on December 12 – 14, and pick up again December 27-29.
