Daddy Yankee, his wife Mireddys González, and his sister-in-law Ayeicha González Castellano met up in court again. On Jan. 14, the Puerto Rican superstar and the González sisters faced each other to settle an agreement regarding the documents that Daddy Yankee’s team requested in the first hearing. The sisters also hired a new high-profile lawyer.
In early December, DY announced his divorce from his wife, Mireddys. Later that same month, it was revealed he was suing the González sisters for allegedly trying to withdraw $100 million from his business accounts, El Cartel Records and El Cangris, without his consent, resulting in him taking legal action. Although the transaction was unsuccessful, the lawsuit detailed that they had already been removed from their administrative roles when this allegedly occurred.
During the first hearing, part of the settlement was for DY to take the presidency role of both businesses. In this process, the sisters were to share all important documents and contracts with the Puerto Rican icon. However, it appears this didn’t fully happen.
Last week, it was reported that DY and the sisters were returning to court because the requested documents weren’t fully delivered. Instead, the artist’s team claims that they delivered old archives. This resulted in the singer’s team asking the court to order the defendants to deliver what was initially requested in 24 hours or a management representation letter and a specific list of what was provided under oath, along with the documents not yet provided. The sisters’ lawyers at the time asked for the request to be dismissed because they disagreed with DY’s team’s demand for a management representation letter to finally finalize the transfer of the corporations.

Fast forward to now, the sisters now have two new legal representatives: Roberto Alonso Santiago Rúa and Mariel Colón Miró. The latter is known for working with high-profile cases, such as Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán.
Today (Jan. 14), the lawyers met up to continue the legal process. Yankee’s lawyer, Carlos Díaz Olivo, claims that the delivered documents are unorganized and that the sisters don’t want to give up their roles as directors of the companies. Although he says that he finally received the important documents, such as the contract with details about the sale of the artist’s musical catalog last night (Jan. 13), he claims that the sisters’ lawyers are manipulating documents by erasing information. Díaz Olivo also revealed that he discovered an alleged 45 million transaction that wasn’t authorized or known by Daddy Yankee.
According to Metro PR, the first part of the hearing ended with the judge asking the two parties to reach an agreement outside the courtroom. Per Primera Hora, the parties agreed to continue delivering documents through the sisters’ legal representative, Colón Miró. There will also be “confidential depositions” between the parties to clarify any missing or verbal information they may need to complete the original court settlement.

“I thank you all for being here. As you know, I have a gag order in the divorce case, so I can’t talk much. The only thing I will tell you is that in due time, I will have the opportunity to speak from the other side of the story and clarify the reason for many things,” Mireddys reportedly told the press.
