After wrapping up the Venezuelan artist’s successful U.S. tour, Toyota and Danny Ocean are giving back in a huge way. Earlier this month, Toyota revealed its donation of $80,000 to schools in Arizona and Georgia towards their music education programs. The initiation included a student event with the presence of Latin Grammy-nominated artist Ocean, who talked to the music students about the importance of music and creative expression.
The $80,000 was donated to schools like Chandler High School in Chandler, AZ, and Fulton County Schools (FCS), Benjamin Banneker High School, and Tri-Cities High School in Atlanta, GA. The latter high school was able to enjoy an intimate conversation with Ocean and Grammy-nominated artist and philanthropist Mali Wilson.
In the conversation, the scholars talked about their aspirations and inspirations. They opened up about what they wanted to do in college and what inspired them to make music. In a video filmed at the event, we see the students show their gratitude to the artists. Ocean also shared his side of the story, saying that though he went to college for graphic design, he also wanted to be a musician.
“I come from a place where there’s no programs, there’s no bands in school,” Ocean told the crowd about his experience. “You guys are very lucky of going to school and getting to do what you guys like. So I’m grateful for that.”

Ocean’s had a huge year. Besides this important donation, the “Me Rehúso” singer also wrapped up his U.S. REFLEXA Tour. The tour took him nationwide, with stops in major cities like Seattle, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Houston.
Moreover, he was also nominated for two Latin Grammy awards this year: Song of the Year for “Caracas En El 2000” with Elena Rose and Jerry Di and Best Pop Song for “Amor.”
