Texan troubadour David Garza is a big deal. To prove that, on Thursday, May 12th, the city of Austin and its mayor, Lee Leffingwell, will declare this holiest of days David Garza Day, to celebrate his legacy as one of Austin’s premier local artists. What does an Austin dweller do on David Garza Day you might ask? Well, you listen to all 75,000 David Garza albums and go to one of his art exhibits. It’s a day for David Garza appreciation, and gosh darn it, we need more of those.
