Video Premier: Manuvers & Yarlen, "Scribble Hearts"

Last year we featured the release of Manuvers & Yarlen’s debut EP as a production team, now we bring you their first video. Big deal because it’s also the first official video for our friends at Chile’s indie netlabel Discos Pegaos. In case you don’t remember Manuvers & Yarlen is a Miami-based duo of producers that come from a hip-hop/electro background, but on The Drive Home EP they embraced some darker, downtempo, multilayered synths sounds and the result sounds nothing like what Chilean-born Manuvers had done in the past when putting together beats for the likes of Ana Tijoux.

The song “Scribble Hearts” was selected as the EP’s second single and its video was entirely shot in Santiago de Chile’s streets by night. Unfortunately it doesn’t feature the authors of the track–and I say unfortunately because Yarlen could’ve provided some major eye candy. Instead it offers a nice storyline to follow, turning it into a cool short movie, which I’m guessing was the director’s intention anyway. It definitely matches the mood of the track and the whole music-to-listen-to-while-you-drive-home-late-at-night-after-partying-hard premise of the EP.
