Five years after El Guincho dropped his highly underrated opus Pop Negro, the follow-up has finally arrived. But the album isn’t on vinyl, CD, cassette, or even 8-track. HiperAsia is now available in the form of a wristband that comes with NFC (Near Field Communication) technology and a QR code. You can use your smartphone to unlock a secret website that features the full album, a “3-D experience,” and a Manson-directed animated film called HiperAsia, La Aventura Lírica Animada. Plus, the website will be regularly updated with exclusive new music for two years. The wristband is the first object of the HiperAsia collection, designed by Wellness, and we are already dying to have them all.

Pablo Díaz-Reixa has already shared “(Con un) Rotu Seco” and “Mis Hits,” and the HiperAsia, La Aventura Lírica Animada trailer previews another unidentified new song. Judging by the trailer, the film will be an action-packed, absurd, vintage, and 3-D-inspired piece of work with a whole lot of (robot) dancing. What a way to promote an album.

Order your HiperAsia wristband here. The digital edition is out January 29 through Everlasting Records/CANADA.
