Eslabon Armado is set to make history on Good Morning America for regional Mexican music. Last night (Sept. 12), the Mexican-American group revealed they will perform on the popular morning show.

In honor of Our Heritage Month this Friday, Eslabon Armado was invited to perform on GMA. The guys will make history as the first regional Mexican music group to perform on the show. Pedro Tovar and his bandmates expressed their excitement in a post on Instagram.

“Very grateful for the opportunity to represent our beautiful culture and share our love for Mexico at Good Morning America,” the band wrote. “See you this Friday Sept 15th. on Good Morning America my people!!”

2023 is the year of Eslabon Armado. The band scored one of the biggest hits of the year with “Ella Baila Sola” featuring Peso Pluma. The collaboration peaked at No. 1 on Billboard’s Global 200 chart and Spotify’s Top 50 Global chart. The Great Gatsby-inspired music video has been viewed over 360 million times since dropping back in April.

The success of “Ella Baila Sola” translated into big sales for Eslabon Armado’s latest album, Desvelado. When the LP came out in May, it peaked at No. 6 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart. They held the record for the highest-charting regional Mexican music album until Peso Pluma‘s Génesis hit No. 3 in June.

“I feel super good being part of the música mexicana explosion,” Tovar told Remezcla back in April. “It’s an incredible movement right now that our genre is reaching a whole other level that’s never been seen before. That people all over the world are listening to my music, and they’re discovering who Eslabon Armado is. It’s amazing!”

Good Morning America every weekday starting at 7 a.m. on ABC. Last month, KIDZ BOP released a surprising cover of “Ella Baila Sola.”
