In Vuelo Nocturno, the Dutch duo Umoja experimented with organic samples of old school Colombian cumbia, Afrobeat, and other funky, tropical sounds, magically transporting them to an idyllic jungle very far away from their home in Haarlem, North Holland.
Now they’ve decided to revisit that landscape in the form of a collection of remixes, so they’ve hired a handful of knowledgeable pilots for the trip, including some whose names should sound familiar to Remezcla readers, like El Búho, Bleepolar, and Dany F.
The results are even trippier and hypnotic than the originals, taking the tracks in all sorts of unexpected directions, from global bass to deep house to down-tempo and more. Here’s an exclusive, limited-time-only free download of one of the eight remixes included in the EP. Make sure to check out the whole release (and the rest of the label’s catalog) on their bandcamp.
