Fania Records, Remezcla, and Santa Salsa present Quantic, Nenas Rudas, Avenida B at Far Rockaway
To bid adieu to summer (we’re still in denial, though), Fania Records , Santa Salsa, and Remezcla are teaming up for a beachside edition of Armada Fania, with special headlining guest DJ, producer, and globe-trotting music selector Quantic a.k.a. Will Holland, plus Nenas Rudas, well-known for their head-turning DJ sets and also residents of the Azucar – A Queer Latin Dance Party!, whose ethos we covered previously in our feature, “Azucar Papi: Creating a Safe Space to Wine Yuh Waist.” To top it all off, we’ll start the party with NYC-based salsa dura band Avenida B.
The free party will be August 31st (Labor Day weekend! No excuses to not party on a Sunday!), starting at 6 PM at the beach at 97th Street in Far Rockaway. Look for the Santa Salsa food truck, and listen for the cumbiatronic beats to find us there til 10 PM.
