Video: Favi – "Take me to the bay"

Remember that song “Abrázame” by Los Rakas? Of course you do, it was like everywhere and it’s still getting a lot of play from DJs all across the board. Well, that girl singing the chorus is Favi and she’s a multifaceted Bay Area native artist who’s also doing her own stuff and it’s not bad at all.

A couple of months ago we introduced her to you through a mixtape done by DJ Santero that we posted on our weekly mix column. This time around we bring you her first video, for the song “Take Me To The Bay,” that as you might already assume, is an ode to the Bay Area and her hometown San Francisco, CA (this girl seriously loves her city, and has a ghetto-fab tattoo to prove it). What you may have not expected, however, is a sort of semi-cover of Red Hot Chili Peppers’ classic tune “Under The Bridge” over a catchy reggae riddim.

With beautiful images taken all over the city, the video kinda feels like a tourism brochure at times, but that’s ok. I give her mad props just for walking into the Pacific Ocean during a foggy winter day, I mean, I go to that same beach on the hottest summer days and never go pass my ankles, that’s how freezing the water is.
