First Look: Pili Montilla Brings Latin Indie to PR's TV Sets in 'Té Para Tres'

Our friend Pili Montilla is a lady of all trades in the entertainment world- from hosting, acting, producing- but she maintains that her greatest passion has always been music. Sharing in Remezcla’s hunger to find and share up and coming Latin artists, Pili joined forces with director/editor Juan Agustin Marquez to create a new music show, Té Para Tres con Pili Montilla. After spending years interviewing some of the best new talent in Latin music, she wondered why many of them weren’t “making it,” and decided to create a platform where artists can truly share their aspirations, their stories, and of course, their music.

Whereas many music interviews put the artist in an uninspiring environment, Pili has dug deeper into the lives of the artists, having spontaneous conversations in intimate locales like their home, recording studio and backstage at concerts. Through her unique storytelling, Té Para Tres has already sat down with some of our favorite artists here at Remezcla, including Las Cafeteras, Domino Saints, La Santa Cecilia, Palenke Soultribe, Los Rakas, and no doubt, many more.

After the show’s premiere on Puerto Rico’s WAPA TV on July 11, they shot up to the #2 spot in the ratings, and have since also been offered a spot as a radio show on Puerto Rico’s alt/indie station Radio Joe. Pili and her team dream of national and international distribution for the show, and if the recent feedback says anything, people will want more and more.

Check out the sneak peek preview of Té Para Tres Con Pili Montilla below and watch the episodes as they air online at WAPA.tv. Stay tuned to hear the real stories of your favorite new artists that can only come out over a warm cup of tea, good vibes, and good company.
