22-year-old Jorge Sulser, the man behind Limousine Eyelash, debuted his synthesized, attitude-packed sound in April with a self-titled EP. The three-track collection showcases his bipolar voice—sometimes falsetto’d, other times throaty—and his penchant for detail, both lyrically and sonically. It’s comforting to see a young synth-based artist pay such attention to his lyrics. Sulser stuffs his songs with big sweaters, junkies, cherry gum, and chicken skin, all contributing to the richness of the songs. He doesn’t just stand back and let the drum machines do the work. His language pulls some weight, too.
