We’ve expressed our love for Santiago de Chile’s Oh Margot before and we’re doing it again. It’s safe to say that with the release of the quartet’s new EP, the three-track How To Kill Some Time, the indie post punk rockers made up of Chichi Quappe, Fab Ciraolo, Sebastian Vasquez and Jose Ignacio Rojas have discovered their signature sound — even though it’s heavily influenced by British new wave and post punk like many flavor-of-the-week blog faves, a few listens should prove Oh Margot worthy. Claiming inspirations by ’70s classics like The Ramones, Television, and My Bloody Valentine, these influences are more than a lazy attempt at simply recreating a mood from a stack full of fuzzy, reverb guitars and vocals. So download How To Kill Some Time and do so yourself.
