To state the obvious, L.A.’s latin music scene is big and it’s easy for great artists to fall through the cracks. Palenke Soultribe, unfortunately, is one of those great artists. The electro, afro-colombian outfit has been serving up dance tunes since their debut in 2005 but have remained on the fringes for some reason or other.
Hopefully that will all change with the release of their next album, Mar, due out April 9th. The album is the latino Groove Armada’s sequel to 2009’s Oro and part of a trilogy that will be book ended with the future release of Rojo, the three colors symbolizing the national flag of Colombia.
“Move It” is the first single off Mar and features L.A. singer Naada. It’s a heavy, techno banger that serves up some 21st century danca kuduro straight out of the Matrix.
