We cried tears of sadness and despair when experimental indie band Porter broke up in 2008. The Guadalajara, Jalisco-based quintet separated after its performance at Coachella that same year putting an end to a project that was still in its infancy. The breakup resulted in a number of other projects including AEIOU, Holger, and Vansen Tiger but it just wasn’t the same.

We then cried tears of happiness and joy when they announced their reunion late last year as part of Vive Latino’s 2013 lineup. With just a little over a week until the first day of Mexico’s Coachella/Lollapalooza, we find ourselves crying once more as Porter has surprised with a new single!

“Kiosko” is the first new offering from the Guadalajara outfit in five years and debuted yesterday morning on Reactor 105.7 FM. It’s a beautiful serving of dreamy, ethereal indie-pop goodness thanks, in part, to the work of Simone Pace of Blonde Redhead who produced the track.

I think I’m going to stay up all night to watch the sunrise and put this song on full blast once the first rays appear over the horizon. It just feels right.
