When we (blindly) anticipated Twin Shadow‘s 2014 release, we had little to go on. Now we have “To the top” and it’s catapulted this hypothetical album to the top of my list.
“To the top” is working at optimum Michael Bolton/Phil Collins levels here. It’s on that triumphant, quasi-corny ballad tip and it gets me in a mood where I ugly cry while yelling “Yaaaaas” (you know the one). It’s a “stomp, clap” kind of song and it’s not ashamed of it.
