Their new album, titled When We Abandoned Earth is coming out this week and is marked by their move to the big metropolis. In their own words, the new album is “…nostalgic. It’s dramatic. Giovanni got the inspiration for the track “Love You More” after watching the film Control about Joy Division, and talks about love vanishing away.

We’re doing a remix contest of this track here in Remezcla! The winning version of “Love You More” will be chosen and distributed by the band, with potential airplay on the radio in Mexico!. Read more about the contest here.

“VIVIR SIN TI”

Formerly of Yerba Buena with Cucu Diamantes, Xiomara Laugart et al, this Cuban dancer, choreographer and singer is finally releasing his solo debut album, No Hay Mal Que Por Bien No Venga. Based in Miami, where he also performs with the group Cubiche, el Chino’s music is a mix of Afro-Cuban elements, reggae, son, y…mucho mas chiquitico.

The album is out under The Art of Sound Group and his own El Chino Efori Music, and the record release pari is tomorrow, even though it won’t be available digitally yet (according to Chino, album had to drop on 9/9/9 “porque es una fecha especial, asere.”) Not everything is irie and beach life in El Chino Dreadlion’s musical universe, however. “Vivir Sin Ti” is a salsa song dipped in melancholy.
