Besides shocking fans with unexpected performances, the Latin Grammys recognized this year’s top acts in the Latine music industry. The 25th annual celebration took place at the Kaseya Center in Miami, FL, earlier today (Nov. 14). Juan Luis Guerra y 4.40,  Edgar Barrera, and Nathy Peluso were among the 2024 Latin Grammy Awards top winners.

Dominican singer and composer Guerra and his band had a huge night. Together, they won four awards, including Record of the Year and Best Tropical Song for “Mambo 23” and Best Merengue/Bachata Album and Album of the Year for Radio Güira.

Mexican songwriter Barrera also won big since the award’s pre-telecast. During the pre-telecast, he won Songwriter of the Year, Best Regional Song for Grupo Frontera and Grupo Firme’s “El Amor De Su Vida,” and Producer of the Year. He was nominated for nine categories, making him the most-nominated person of the year.

Argentinean-Spanish singer Peluso won all three of her nominations. She took home the gramophone for Best Rap/Hip-Hop Song for “Aprender A Amar,” Best Alternative Song for “El Día Que Perdí Mi Juventud,” and Best Long Form Music Video for Grasa (Album Long Form)

Moreover, the awards debuted two new categories. For the first time in its 25-year history, Best Contemporary Mexican Music Album and Best Latin Electronic Music Performance were recognized during the pre-telecast and televised ceremonies. Best Contemporary Mexican Music Album went to Carín León’s Boca Chueca, Vol. 1, while Bizarrap and Shakira won the new Best Latin Electronic Music Performance category for “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53 (Tiësto Remix).” Bizarrap was present and accepted the award.

Other notable winners include Feid’s first Latin Grammy win for his feature in Bad Bunny’s “Perro Negro” under the Best Reggaeton Performance. Colombian singer Ela Taubert won Best New Artist. Moreover, Karol G became the first female artist to win Best Urban Music Album twice.
