As a longtime fan of NYC-based label DFA Records, home to such giants as LCD Soundsystem (RIP), The Juan Maclean, Yacht, and other modern nu-disco/indie/dance sounds, I was glad to have had the chance to review The Odyssey EP by Future Feelings (Fernando Dimare). The solo album by the Argentinian producer living in Mexico blew me away with its funky, outer space grooves and beats.
Six months later, I’m excited to report that Future Feelings is back with a new EP of space disco tunes. Cosmo Voyages is a collaboration with Iñigo Vontier, co-founder of Mix Le Fun Records and member of Salon Acapulco and Lost Mapaches. The five tracks on Cosmo Voyages travel beyond its younger brother’s 1970s time warp and into a future that is part disco, part ’80s-vibes, and part house party.
