Although El Alfa is retiring from stages soon, it seems like he isn’t done crafting unexpected collaborations. On Sept. 30, Canadian pop superstar Justin Bieber teased an upcoming remix for the Dominican dembow pioneer’s smash hit “4K” — and fans are more than ready to hear the potential result.

“THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A SURPRISE FOR WEDNESDAY THE 15TH, but @lilbieber MADE IT OFFICIAL!! 4K REMIX 🚨,” El Alfa wrote in Spanish online.

Based on El Alfa’s Instagram post, it seems like we could have a remix in a couple of weeks. The video teaser features Bieber dancing and smiling to El Alfa’s hit, wearing sunglasses and a hoodie. Originally released in 2020, “4K” is one of the dembow icon’s most popular tracks, with more than 248 million views on YouTube alone to date. Almost six years later, the hit will now potentially expand to an even bigger audience, with the “DAISIES” singer jumping on the mix.

Bieber is no stranger to Latine music. In 2017, the pop star remixed Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito,” which catapulted the song into mainstream radio. It was such a hit that it broke records as the longest song to claim No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 16 weeks. It tied the record with Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s song “One Sweet Day” at the time. If Biebs remixes “4K,” will it reach the same success?

Though there’s no official confirmation from Biebs’ team, fans are already excited to hear the remix. An X user wrote: “I never imagined Justin Bieber would upload a video of himself dancing to Alfa’s 4k, byeeeeee.” Another X user commented: “WHAT DO YOU MEAN REMIX WITH ALFA?????? If it’s true, Justin can’t get any more random😂😂 Talk about versatility, one day he’s hanging out with the members of Kiss and the next he’s apparently releasing a dembow song.”

We’ll keep an eye out to see if Bieber’s remix of “4K” will be released on Oct. 15.
