Ahead of her new album KG0516, Karol G dropped by Jimmy Fallon’s late night show, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, to premiere her new song, “El Barco.” Before her performance, she spoke with Fallon on her stage name and revealed that she’s a Backstreet Boys fan.
“In Colombia, we knew them a lot,” Karol G said. “I was so in love with Nick [Carter]. He was so hot! You know what BSB, Karol G is a huge fan of yours.” Unlike *NSYNC, BSB is still together, so maybe that crossover collaboration could happen in the future.
Instead of opting for one of her current singles like “Bichota” or “Location,” Karol G performed her new song “El Barco.” After her ballad “Ocean,” where she professed her love for Anuel AA, the rough waters she sings about in “El Barco” appear to give credence to recent reports that the couple is broken up. Neither of them have yet to respond to those reports publicly yet.
While performing “El Barco,” Karol G had a special guest with her, Lenny Santos from the hit bachata group Aventura. He was playing his guitar on his own little boat while Karol was singing from her boat. During the performance, there was a couple dancing on the docks to Karol G’s bachatón bop.
Karol G’s KG0516 album will be released late tonight (March 26) . The album will also feature her Latin Grammy-nominated global smash “Tusa” featuring Nicki Minaj.
