Another year, another Latin Grammys! The 24th annual award ceremony took place yesterday (Nov. 16) at the Conference and Exhibition Centre (FIBES) in Seville, Spain. Among the 2023 Latin Grammys major winners, Karol G, Shakira, Natalia Lafourcade, and Bizarrap led the pack with three wins each.

Karol G was a huge winner last night. The Colombian pop star took home three awards, including Album of the Year and Best Urban Music Album for her chart-topping album Mañana Será Bonito. In doing so, she became the first woman to hold the latter recognition. She also now shares a trophy with Shakira – the two won in the category of  Best Urban/Fusion Performance for their smash hit “TQG.”

Talking about Shakira, the Colombian superstar also took home two other major wins: Song of the Year and Best Pop Song for her Bizarrap joint track “BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 53.” Bizarrap also won a third award for Best Urban Song for his Quevedo-assisted “BZRP Music Sessions #52.”

Two other artists who tied with three awards also include Natalia Lafourcade and Edgar Barrera. Among her three wins, Lafourcade took home a major category: Record of the Year for “De Todas Las Flores.” On the other hand, Barrera won Producer of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, and Best Regional Song for Grupo Frontera and Bad Bunny’s  “un X100to.”

Despite being one of the biggest hits this year, Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma’s “Ella Baila Sola” didn’t win either of their two nominations.

Moreover, other huge wins include the Venezuelan artist Joaquina’s recognition for Best New Artist. Molotov won Best Rock Album with Sólo D’ Lira, Juanes for Best Pop/Rock Album with Vida Cotidiana, and Julieta Venegas’ Tu Historia won for Best Pop Vocal Album.
