Latin Artists Say Good Bye to Luís Alberto Spinetta
The social networks got flooded with posts concerning Luís Alberto Spinetta‘s departure since it was publicly announced yesterday evening (Argentina’s time).
The first to send out their messages were Luís Alberto’s children: Dante (one half of Illya Kuryaki & The Vaderrama), Valentino (who’s a solo rapper under the name Leeva) and Catarina (who’s a DJ and TV show host). All of them through twitter.
Soon the news spread out when the Argentine edition of Rolling Stone Magazine posted it on their Facebook page and the avalanche of “Chau Flaco” messages took over the social networks. Not only from artists, friends and fans in Argentina (where, undoubtedly, his music and poetry had the deepest impact) but also throughout the continent. Brazil’s Ed Motta turned his twitter profile into a Spinetta tribute page of sorts and hasn’t stopped posting links to his music since yesterday’s news. He calls Luís Alberto “the biggest pop artist in Latin America.” Even the Peruvian youtube sensation Wendy Sulca sent out her condolences to the Spinetta family!
