With the release of “Química,” the first single off Banda de Turistas‘ upcoming album Ya, the Argentine quintet has now officially covered every musical genre from the ’60s and ’70s, from stadium cock rock to psychedelic tunes to imaginary b-sides from The Kinks. Now they’re throwing in a bit of disco into the mix. “Química” is a great tune with guitar riffs and piano lines ripped from a compilation tape of the best hits from NYC’s Paradise Garage and Studio 54. Anyone worried about this flight into pop should breathe easy. There’s a sweet guitar solo just past the halfway point. Bring on the disco balls and stage cages says I!
