Listen: CAPO's "Florece" [MEX]

My Mexican tocayos, CAPO, return with their first material since the 2012 single, “Dispara (Bang Bang)” (produced by San Pascualito Rey’s Luis Ortega). The upcoming EP, Florecer, is also the follow up to the band’s debut LP, Un Corazón se Quema. That album harbored some Muse tendencies, with grinding vocals, grand flourishes, and electronic touches. Their newest single, “Florece,” carries a lot of confidence in itself, taking some off-kilter risks with the synths and guitar riffs. It helps that David Vargas’ vocals have a sassy noir quality to them, similar to URSS Bajo el Arbol’s Samuel Cervantes.
