Centavrvs is back in the sweet, dance-tastic business of reinvigorating corridos for our ear pleasure. “Por Eso” not only keeps the band’s regional Mexican sound close to its surface, it also features the coolly timeless vocal stylings of one Denise Gutiérrez, aka Lo Blondo from Hello Seahorse! The accordion in “Por eso” comes in on a breeze and, shockingly, never overstays its welcome. I don’t know if I’ll ever write that about an accordion again.
