Listen: O Tortuga’s “Palma Linda” EP [MEX]

Hell yeah, it’s time to break out the surfboards and mohawks with these summer surf-punk jams from O Tortuga. The band from Pantitlán (a.k.a. the metro station in Mexico City where that one boy was born this past April and received free metro trips for life) recently released their debut EP, Palma Linda, a four-song collection of surf, punk, and garage rock.

Little is known about the band other than what they have to say for themselves: “tocamos rápido, pateamos cosas,” two things which are pretty obvious from the moment you hit play. I recommend you listen to their album in a room with plenty of space because you’ll be pateando plenty of cosas yourself to the tune of wild guitar solos.
