Elana Belle Carroll has been making haunting electronic music under the Vernous moniker for a while. But now she feels like the time has come to explore new artistic paths. For that, she joins forces with Mexican illustrator Elisa Malo to produce SHELTER, an ongoing “multi-part song + image collaboration.” What this means is, both Vernous and Malo will be releasing a series of singles with their respective live music videos and .gif drawings, from January 1st through April. So far, the songs “Walking Home” and “Slumber Party” are part of this project.

I Used To Watch You” is a 2012 track which has been relaunched for SHELTER, along with a remix by Mexican “horror pop” counterparts Timmy and the Monsters. The original has a really mysterious vibe, mixing raunchy guitar riffs and despair. The remix strips down the gritty and keeps the sexy, adding a new electronic beat to blast it on any dance floor of your choice.
