Launching tonight (September 18) is a concert series benefitting the Biden-Harris campaign, and the mix of artists in what PR says is only the first installment of Team Joe Sings is a stylistically varied bunch.
The debut show includes new performances from pop star Kesha and Grammy winner Anthony Hamilton, plus previously posted performances from indie stalwart Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service), the acclaimed Harlem Gospel Choir, NYC indie pop act MisterWives, and Chicano legends Los Lobos.
Each act shares two songs, starting at 8PM ET/5 PM PT.
Working with Grandstand Media, a woman-founded PR firm whose roster has included the likes of Tame Impala, Hinds, Little Dragon, The Killers, and Robyn, the series will run every Thursday until election day (Nov. 3).
Here’s Kesha’s comment, straight from the press release:
“We need change and we need it now. Our current President has proven over and over that he lacks basic empathy and honesty,” says pop artist Kesha. “I love this country and I think we deserve better. In our Declaration of Independence it says “all men are created equal” it was a nice start, but now we know we need to give all people equal rights, protection, and opportunity no matter what they look like or who they love. I believe Joe Biden and Kamala Harris can help us win this fight for equality.”
Shows will be streamed via the artist’s YouTube channel. Who’s next to join the endorsement party? We’ll update once we find out.
